WIMTACH helps SMEs in the healthcare industry convert their innovative ideas into products by providing them access to expert faculty members, skilled researchers, skilled students, laboratories, and&nbsp;state-of-the-art&nbsp;equipment at Centennial College.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Project:<\/strong> \u00a0InteraXon Project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Position Summary: <\/strong>We are seeking one&nbsp;Embedded Systems and Firmware Student Researcher&nbsp;to support the&nbsp;development, testing and integration of embedded systems and firmware for the InteraXon project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This role focuses on&nbsp;firmware development, embedded hardware integration, sensor communication, device&nbsp;testing,&nbsp;and documentation. The student will help build and&nbsp;validate&nbsp;reliable embedded solutions for wearable neurotechnology, bio-signal acquisition, and connected device functionality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"padding-right:0;padding-left:0\"><strong>Duties and Responsibilities Include&nbsp;but&nbsp;Are Not Limited To:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist\u00a0in developing\u00a0and testing embedded firmware for project prototypes.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support\u00a0integration of sensors, microcontrollers, and communication modules.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help\u00a0implement communication protocols such as serial, I2C, SPI,\u00a0UART,\u00a0and Bluetooth\/BLE.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist\u00a0with\u00a0firmware debugging, troubleshooting, and validation using standard development tools.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support data acquisition, signal processing, and device-level performance testing.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in\u00a0prototype\u00a0testing,\u00a0verification,\u00a0and documentation of system performance.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to technical reports,\u00a0code documentation, version\u00a0control,\u00a0and project deliverables.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently enrolled in\u00a0Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or\u00a0related\u00a0programs.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highly skilled\u00a0in firmware development for both STM and\u00a0nRF\u00a0microcontrollers\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with\u00a0programming languages such as\u00a0C,\u00a0C++, or similar.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in\u00a0embedded systems, firmware, wearable technology, biomedical\u00a0devices\u00a0or sensor-based systems.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong problem-solving,\u00a0debugging,\u00a0and technical troubleshooting skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good verbal and written communication skills\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group left-border-green is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-right:0;padding-left:0\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant must be a\u00a0<strong><em>current\/returning student\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>from Centennial College.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants should be currently enrolled in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,\u00a0Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology,\u00a0Mechatronics, or\u00a0related technical programs.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preferred\u00a0additional\u00a0experience includes familiarity with C++,\u00a0Python, microcontrollers,\u00a0embedded\u00a0firmware,\u00a0sensor integration, Bluetooth\/BLE communication, debugging tools, and hardware\/software integration.\u00a0Previous\u00a0research, laboratory or project experience with wearable devices, biomedical technology, firmware\u00a0development,\u00a0or embedded testing is considered an asset.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to Apply: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Please submit&nbsp;resum\u00e9&nbsp;and cover letter in&nbsp;<\/em><strong><em>one&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><em>document&nbsp;no later&nbsp;by&nbsp;<\/em><em>5:00pm<\/em><em>&nbsp;on&nbsp;closing&nbsp;date to Pooyan&nbsp;Nayyeri&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"mailto:PNayyeri@centennialcollege.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>PNayyeri@centennialcollege.ca<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;.
